BlackBerry Z30 Apps Will Automatically Work on BlackBerry Z3

BlackBerry sent an email out today about the new BlackBerry Z3 that they announced at MWC 2014. They confirmed in the email that the device will target customers in Indonesia and has the same resolution as the Z30. They also stated that since it shares the same 5” screen and OS 10.2.1 then all the apps will be compatible. They are asking developers to still log into the Vendor Portal on BlackBerry World to add support for the new device when it shows up in the “coming weeks.”

If you are a developer check out how to do it below:

1. Sign in to the BlackBerry World Vendor Portal
2. Select Manage Products
3. Under the Releases column, select the magnifying glass icon to view your release(s)
4. Select the pencil icon to edit the desired release
5. On the Add Release Version tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the pencil icon under Device Support
6. Update your device selection and click Ok
7. Click Save
