BlackBerry acquired Torch Mobile in 2009 to bring their Webkit powered browser to BlackBerry 7 and eventually BlackBerry 10. George Staikos was the founder of Torch Mobile and he has been there since the acquisition. His brother Matthew Staikos left earlier this year to start his own gig but now his brother has joined him. Keep in mind this is much longer than acquired founders ever stay at a company after acquisition so its a sign that the Staikos had some goals they wanted to accomplish. Now that they have left I really hope BlackBerry continues to rock the mobile browser space.
