Nutty Player Adds More Features to BlackBerry 10 Video Player

 20031272

I have been impatiently patiently waiting for BlackBerry to add more features and flair to the BlackBerry 10 video player. For a bit now Nutty Player by Macadamian has stepped in to add some of their own touches. They actually released the app a bit back but after Bla1ze mentioned it on CrackBerry I realized I never got around to writing up about it. Nutty Player adds simple things like gesture control to the video player though it does introduce some limitations.

Nutty Player is free and offers the following features:

  • Supported formats:
    • .avi .mp4 .3gp*.3g2 .wmv .mov .m4v .f4v
  • Touch Gestures:
    • Pinch to zoom to customize the screen area – jump backward and forward via sliding left and right on the screen – play/pause via tapping on the middle area of the screen – volume adjustment by up/down sliding on the screen
  • Advanced time slide bar:
    • Ability to precisely seek the desired position of a video
    • bookmark to recover last video session end position
  • Subtitles:
    • Automatically loads subtitles in .srt format with same name as the video file
  • Outputs:
    • HDMI and Miracast enabled on supported devices.

Now if only they would add the ability to play files off network shares or FTP servers. I know its a niche request but its something I do often…

Nutty player is free and available in BlackBerry World at this link
