The popular music discovery service SoundCloud just landed on BlackBerry 10. They are testing the waters by porting their Android app but so far we are hearing it works nicely after launching. This is nowhere near a native experience but still impressive.

Key features

  • Search and discover new music & audio
  • Discover and follow diverse music & audio creators
  • Play playlists, or create your own and share them with your followers
  • Hear a stream of new tracks wherever you are
  • streaming audio playback over WiFi or cellular data connection
  • Record audio with one touch and easily share it to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Tumblr
  • Join the community: connect on SoundCloud with friends and music & audio creators you already follow on Facebook
  • Choose your favorite genres to launch your SoundCloud stream full of music & audio you want to hear
  • Get personalized content suggestions to help you discover new music & audio creators you’ll love

Check out SoundCloud free in BlackBerry World. Hopefully if they see high demand they will bring us a native version!

  1. It is often painfully slow to load a song or podcast. After clicking a song in your “stream”, it can take up to 5 seconds for it to start playing. It’s way way faster in the Web app in the browser 🙁

Also, it crashed on me when attempting to add a comment “into” a song.

However, notifications seem to work, even if the app is closed.
