After passing through the Beta Zone we now have general availability of Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones v4.2. This version is for legacy devices and improves picture viewing along with other features. You also now get suggestions of similar profiles which is nice.
Here are the features of Twitter for BlackBerry 4.2:
- Image Viewing Enhancements – Twitter version 4.2 now offers photo card support so tweets can show more pictures than ever before.
- Retweet/Favorite Indicators – The latest Twitter update makes it easier for you to see what you’ve selected as a favorite or retweeted in your timeline. Tweets are now color marked in the top right hand corner of the Tweet.
- Additional Timeline Details – With Twitter version 4.2, visual indicators are now displayed so you can see more information in your timeline like who replied, their location, and if an article summary is available.
- Similar Profile Suggestions – Twitter version 4.2 offers similar profile suggestions so you can discover even more fascinating people when you view profiles. Under the profile tab, the app showcases other accounts to follow based on the person’s profile that you’re currently viewing.

Hi, I find that this Twitter version does not show all searched results. If I search a keyword or name, the results shown are not thorough and universal.
