The “can’t miss” session from BlackBerry Jam this year for developers was JAM47 on “Background Services – Event Driven Processing for your Application.” This session covered the upcoming Background Services framework currently being used by some developers and coming in BlackBerry OS 10.2. This new Background Services framework will allow developers to run actions and apps without them running as an active frame. That means apps like alarm clocks, notification systems, RSS readers, and more can work in the background without firing up each time.
We mentioned that some of the BlackBerry Jam sessions are now available online but Dave let us know that Jam47 in particular is available at this link.
