One of the HUGE shortcomings of Microsoft Outlook is its insistence to not support the hugely popular CardDAV and CalDAV formats for calendar, tasks, and contact sync. Instead Microsoft clings to their proprietary formats. While many BlackBerry 10 users have figured out how to sync their contacts and calendar with Gmail and other CalDAV/CardDAV services they are finding it difficult to connect with Outlook.
I thought I would offer yet another possible solution that I helped a friend setup. iCal4OL is an awesome utility that allows you to sync Outlook with CardDAV and CardDAV servers including calendars, tasks, and contacts. It supports all of the major players including Gmail, iCloud, Zimbra and 30+ more services. The only catch is that there is a one time 18 EUR (~$24 USD) cost for the iCal4OL software. Thankfully there is a 14 day trial for you to give it a spin.
Check out iCal4OL over at their website and check out their reviews on the Google Apps Marketplace. Let us know if you are using one of the many other tools to sync your Outlook to Gmail or other services.
