RIM’s browser team keeps on trucking on with the BlackBerry 10 Browser improvements. They have just passed another major milestone in HTML5 standardization by passing Ring 1 of Facebook’s open source Ringmark HTML5 program. This essentially confirms the BlackBerry 10 browsers ability to offer advanced HTML5 functionality for web apps such as 2D games, music/video apps, and more. What is even more impressive is that the whole BlackBerry 10 browser is actually created in HTML5. You can read RIM’s announcement here or Facebook’s announcement here.
Dolphin’s mobile browser is actually the first mobile browser to pass the Ring 1 test but RIM let us know that BlackBerry 10 browser is the first platform browser to pass Ring 1. Check out your own mobile browser here at http://rng.io.
Now RIM is working on Ring 2 🙂 Best of luck to you guys! Just make sure to make the browser launch fast and have amazing load times while you are at it!
