BlackBerry Bridge Desktop Install Files Found Online

When RIM released the desktop install files for BlackBerry Bridge last week we thought RIM had finally grown a backbone and stood up to AT&T. They have to release these desktop install files because that is the only way for administrators to deploy Bridge to devices over their BES server. Sadly it looks like RIM caved yet again to AT&T and took down the install files that used to be here.

I think this whole back and forth is ridiculous on RIM’s part because companies cannot rely on App World to deploy PlayBooks and roll out the BlackBerry Bridge app especially if their IT Policy blocks App World. Even RIM realizes what a cop out it is by only mentioning App World as a place to install Bridge in their Knowledge Base and telling admins that:

If the BlackBerry Bridge needs to be deployed using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server please contact BlackBerry Technical Support and reference this Knowledge base Article (KB26554)
