It seems like the RIM marketing department has not had a chance to send the memo to their “leaks” group. 🙂 RIM has confirmed by now that they have renamed OS 6.1 to OS 7.0 but we now have OS 6.1.0.50 leaked (via Driphter) for the BlackBerry 9810 codename Jennings, 9860 codename Monza, and 9900 codename Dakota. So far RIM has only officially confirmed the existence of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 but the others will come soon.

While most of you will not be able to enjoy anything from this leak that will probably change very soon. As we speak there are hardcore BlackBerry users tearing apart these leaks for the updated applications. Something tells me we will be seeing OTA links shortly.
Warning: This OS will not install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above and is not an official release. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide.Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.
