RIM Gearing Up to FINALLY Release BlackBerry Protect in 2+ Weeks?

Protect BlackBerry

It looks like BlackBerry Protect will finally be released in the next few weeks. One of our sources sent us an email from RIM stating that they are winding down their BlackBerry Protect Beta to get ready for the official launch. As I said just a few weeks ago BlackBerry Protect is a project that I cannot wait for RIM to release. Users are in dire need of a wireless backup solution and RIM has been dangling one in front of our eyes for almost a year ago confirming it in both a private and public beta in the Beta Zone. We even reviewed BlackBerry protect back in July when RIM gave us early access to the solution.

RIM has sent out an email to all current BlackBerry Protect users advising them that the BlackBerry Protect service would be down starting this Wednesday February 23rd for about two weeks. For that time the clients and website will both be offline and they will be deleting all current beta users data so be sure to perform a desktop backup if you are part of the beta. They have confirmed that the service will be back up and running in 2 or so weeks.

That timeline fits in perfectly right after/around the launch of BES 5.0.3 which finally brings support and IT Policies for BlackBerry Protect. I really cant wait to give it a spin!
