One of the things that RIM added in OS 6.0 was homescreen panes. Personally I have found little to no use for this feature and it seems to just cause me annoyances when I accidentally swipe to the wrong pane. Don’t get me wrong I like the idea of multiple homescreens if (and only if) RIM let me manage them and reorganize them how I WANT THEM. Currently the panes just duplicate the same content over and over again. For example the main pane is going to have practically the same items as the Frequent pane.
I was really hoping that RIM would let us manage these panes just like the main pane in OS 6.1. For example I should be able to put any app I want on any pane I want and reorder the panes the way I want. Sadly that does not seem to be the case but Kevin @CrackBerry noticed that RIM will finally let you choose which panes you want to have on your homescreen. For example, I would stick with All and Downloads.
Hopefully RIM lets us setup our own panes in future builds but until then this is a step in the right direction.
