XTop mobile has been working on their app for so long I thought it was vaporware. Blaze over @CrackBerry noticed that the XTop Mobile app is now available in public beta and packs in a whole slew of features. The idea is that it gracefully marries your BlackBerry with your PC. Just check out the feature list for the beta below to see what I mean:
- Get real-time notification of all incoming calls directly on your Laptop / PC so you don’t have to reach for your Smartphone during meetings or while you’re at your desk.
- View, send and receive emails from the BIS (i.e. hotmail, gmail) and BES accounts on your Smartphone, wherever you are, without having to connect to a 3rd Party Hotspot.
- Send and receive SMS and PIN chat messages in a chat-like window directly from your Laptop / PC screen.
- Add, edit and manage your Smartphone contacts directly from your Laptop / PC in real-time.
- Automatically back-up of all contacts, emails and text messages every time you walk-up to your laptop.
Talk about a pretty feature filled app solution. So far it works over Bluetooth but hopefully they will get Wi-Fi going to. The full version is coming out in February which is right around the corner and is supposed to bring:
- Internet anywhere (Full Feature Tethering)
- Slick new user interface
- Convenient, new features
You can just head to www.xtopmobile.com to pick up the 30 day beta and sign up to be notified when the full version launches. Currently it only supports Windows devices but I am hoping they are working on Mac support. Let us know if you check XTop out for yourself!
