Over the years I had had to use Microsoft Project quite a few times. While the software has improved it still feels like a targeted copy of excel with its own file format. The problem is that there are very few mobile devices that can read the .MPP file format that RIM uses.
K-SOL decided to do something about that and released Project Reader for BlackBerry. The app simply allows you to open and view Microsoft Project .MPP files from your BlackBerry. IT supports all of the formats from version 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, and 2010. They also support many of the views including task lists, resource sheets, task usage, and resource usage. You cannot edit the files but at least this gives you a chance to open them.
Project Reader is available in App World for $14.99 which is pricey but it has no competition. It also weighs in at over 3.5MB so if you are tight on space this may not be the app for you though it does support OS 4.5+. via @AlexKinsella
