We just heard rumors about the BlackBerry Storm 3 heading to production and now we have more details thanks to BGR. They have managed to score a detailed feature list for the device that includes a sweet 800×480 3.7 inch display. The renderings look exactly like the picture of the Storm 3 we leaked awhile back which is promising. This Storm series device might finally bring the Storm back to life and give it some spunk with a 1.2Ghz processor along with both quad band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSPA. No word on CDMA radios which is odd but they said it might come in 2-3 variants which may include a CDMA model.
The device also includes a 3G mobile hotspot along with HD video recording though it is only sporting a 1230mAh battery which is odd. Check out the full leaked feature list below:
- 1.2GHz processor
- 3.7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive display
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- Tri-band UMTS/HSPA
- 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording
- 8GB eMMC (storage for apps and data), 512MB of RAM
- microSD slot
- Magnetometer
- Proximity sensor
- Accelerometer
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- 2.4GHz b/g/n and 5GHz a/n Wi-Fi + UMA
- 3G Mobile hotspot
- Optical trackpad
- 1230 mAh battery
- BlackBerry OS 6.1
- OpenGL ES 2.0
The release is rumored to be sometime in September so it looks like we have a great holiday season to look forward to. Now if only RIM could get these devices out the door soon… 🙂 The prevalent 3G Mobile hotspot in these latest devices is really going to be great for the PlayBook. I cannot wait.
