Free AIM for BlackBerry With Facebook Chat & Lifestream

AIM chat AIM chat2 AIM chat3

I am not sure when it was released by AOL now has their own AIM chat client which has some nice features. It includes the much coveted Facebook chat in a free application. Currently App World reviewers have not been to kind to the app but hopefully AOL plans on updating it. I had tried a few weeks back to try to sign into Facebook chat through the RIM AIM client but didn’t have much luck. I would rather the RIM client due to its low battery usage with push notifications but there are quite a few users who want Facebook chat on their BlackBerry.

Features of the free AIM for BlackBerry app include:

  • Chat with people using AIM or Facebook
  • Update Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, foursquare and more using the built-in Lifestream features
  • Send IMs or SMS text messages
  • Post photos using your camera or upload a saved photo
  • Share your location when updating your status

The app supports BlackBerry OS 4.5+ devices though some devices like the 9300 series are not included in the supported list. You can pick up the free AIM for BlackBerry app at this link in App World or read more on their website.

Thanks Dispair for the tip!
