HootSuite has been off to a really rocky start with their BlackBerry client. Things started off really bad with the first public beta and they are slowly fixing the software. The last update was awhile ago but a Dennis and iBenRowe let us know HootSuite has released a new beta version today. HootSuite has a pretty nice following and as the app progresses they are definitely moving in the right direction. The new version adds some sweet features that start to round out the app including:
- Facebook Places – update your profile, including your geo-location info, using this ground-breaking integration
- Foursquare check-in – let your friends know who’s the mayor of your favorite nest with this interactive location-based game
- Twitter Locations – add neighborhood or venue data to your Tweets using Twitter’s native geo tools
The app has also been translated to Japanese, French, and Spanish by their crowd sourced volunteers which is a nice perk. You can download the new beta at this link from HootSuite’s BlackBerry page and suggest features for future versions here.
Keep in mind they do have a BIG note saying:
Initial app experience may appear slower than expected due to avatar resizing and caching process. Speed will increase after this process is complete (10-15 minutes of usage).
You should also check out iBenRowe’s review of the new update. He does a great job of sizing up the beta and what HootSuite could fix.
