Bist let us know that they have renamed their offline BerrySki app to GpsSkiMaps and updated it for the current skiing season. I am guessing that the name change was to get it approved in App World. Hardcore skiers will appreciate the new features in this release including a POI database. In case you didn’t catch it last year GpsSkiMaps is a offline mapping app for skiers and snowboarders with 109 maps for the US and Canada with a European version coming soon.
The new version adds the following features:
- View POIs
- Search
- Custom Waypoints
- Distance Bearing Tool
- Season/Lifelong summary
- Improved vertical stats (Trail by trail stats - only app mobile or desktop to do so)
The pricing for GpsSkiMaps is like this. You get a year subscription to one North American resort for $7.99 or 5 resorts for $9.99. You can get all 109 available North American locations or $29.99. All the versions are available both in the store and in App World.
