Aliph Enters Bluetooth Speaker Market with Jawbone Jambox

jawbone jambox Aliph has made a name for itself with their high end Jawbone Bluetooth headsets. They are now expanding beyond the headset into the Bluetooth speakers market which is not as crowded. Their first product that is not a Bluetooth headset is the Jawbone Jambox. I am not sure why they stuck with the Jawbone name since a Bluetooth speaker is not using your jaw for background noise suppression though it is a cool name.

Either way the new JawBone Jambox is nice and small at 6×2.25×1.6 inches and weighs in at less than a pound. It has a 3.5mm jack so it is not limited to Bluetooth and its 8-10 hour battery life should keep you going for a bit. It even has a microphone built in so you can use it as a speakerphone for your BlackBerry. It uses a microUSB port for charging so you don’t need to carry a different charger. The Jambox is also compatible with their new MyTalk app store so you can keep on updating it and it has Multipoint to connect to two devices at the same time.

You can read more about the Jambox on Aliph’s website or preorder it for $199.99 at this link. I have to say Aliph really knows how to splash into a market. I am pretty picky and even I want a Jambox…
