While I am still trying to wrap my head around the latest Silly Bandz craze, Iowa officials came up with a creative take on the popular Livestrong wrist bands. According to the WSJ certain Iowa police departments are handing out colored thumb bands at schools and to texting drivers. The bands simply state “TXTING KILLS” in pink, black, and blue which is an appropriate message.
This new approach fits in well with that recent study that found bans of texting may increase crashes. I am curious if it will catch on in other states…
