For Bold 9700 users who are sticklers about only installing official OS versions or have IT support that will only install official builds here is some good news. AT&T has officially released OS 5.0.0.979 for the very popular BlackBerry Bold 9700. It is not OS 6.0 but its nice that AT&T has not forgotten about the device now that the 9780 is coming soon.
Warning: This OS will not install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.
