On of the things that really pissed me off when RIM launched the BlackBerry Torch 9800 was that it did not come with a Holster. This is the first high end QWERTY BlackBerry model that I can remember not coming with a holster. I understand that the Pearl and Curve lines stopped coming with holsters to cash in on accessories but I guess RIM is starting to cut corners… They didn’t include a slip case like they did with the Pearl and Curve lines recently.
When the device first came out I came up with a fugly solution of using an old OEM BlackBerry 8800 case I had lying around. It was the only one that had the sleeper magnet in the right location to activate the holster function on the Torch. Right after it came out RIM rolled out a line of cases for the Torch but at $39.99 retail (and not even available on ShopBlackBerry) I resisted.
Earlier this week my fugly years old 8800 case solution started to break down. I started searching online for a Torch 9800 case and found that RIM’s OEM Leather Swivel Holsters for the BlackBerry 9800 are now retailing for about $14 shipped on Amazon. If you want to get it with free Amazon Prime 2 day shipping if you are a Prime customer they also have it for ~$16 at this link.
Let us know if you find any other good deals on Torch cases!
