There are quite a few apps that let you send your location to friends. Allstate decided to join in on the fun with their latest Allstate Tag-In beta app for BlackBerry along with the iPhone and Android versions. It helps you send a message with your exact location to a friend in 4 clicks which is not bad.
Features include:
- Quick Messages — Save time with messages that can be sent over and over again.
- GPS Functionality — Accessing the user’s current location, family, friends and colleagues can know exactly where the user is.
- Messages Just like a Text — Receive messages without opening the app. Tag In alerts pop up as text on your mobile home screen.
- Group Contact List — Send the same message to multiple people with “My Groups.” Create a set of contacts and connect with them all in just four touches.
- Mobile Phone Compatibility — Contacts do not need to have a smart phone or the app to receive Tag-In messages.
Once trying the app I realized it is actually pretty useful for sharing your location on a trip or conference. On the other hand it would be much more useful if they added the ability to email or share you location on other networks.
