If you never heard of Proporta before they make some really nice accessories for mobile devices including the BlackBerry, and Iphones. Some of the accessories include Cases, screen protectors, chargers. My favorite product from them has to be the Proporta Turbocharger. I have been using this extra fuel battery on my trips to WES and DEVCON this year and it sure has been a life saver.
The fuel cell is about the same size of the torch but stores about 2 to 3 times the power of a normal BlackBerry battery. It uses a mini USB cable to connect to a power outlet and charge itself and the user can use any type of USB cable to charge their portable electronic. When I ran out of power I just use a short micro USB to connect it to my blackberry and both fit in my pockets or backpack while it charges my Blackberry.
What I love is the convenience and specially at the events or when you are on the go it makes life easier, specially with the Torch battery not lasting as long as the 9700 did. Don’t get me wrong I love the Torch but the touch screen eats up the power really fast (Still last longer than an Iphone :p).
Inside this small device is a 3400 mAh battery with an input of 5V DC 500 mA. The max output power is at 5.5V 700mA
At the bottom you get a cool blue LED lights that serve as an indicator of how much juice the Turbo charger has left. I was able to recharge my camera, 2 BlackBerry devices to full power before having to recharge it.
To charge your device all you have to do is press a button towards the bottom of it and it will start charging your device.
