RIM just announced today that the new BlackBerry Mobile Advertising SDK will be available soon for all developers. The new SDK will allow developers to easily add ads to their apps using three simple lines of code. The developers then only need one relationship with RIM who deals with the ad networks for them. This is going to be huge for RIM and should lead to quite a jump in free ad supported apps. The main item developers will be interested in is that the revenue split is a pretty reasonable 60% for developers and 40% to RIM and the networks.
Here is what we know about the service:
⁃ Three lines of code
⁃ One business relationship with rim and they deal with networks
⁃ Developers will get access to measurements
⁃ Simple to use : Open: Flexible: and global: and inclusive.
⁃ How it will work

⁃ RIM hosts it and provides inventory
⁃ backend mediation platform aggregates ad platforms from around the world
⁃ 5 different ad netowrks
⁃ Millenial, Jumptap, Mojiva,
⁃ Location based advertising and Video advertising from other providers
⁃ Developers can choose which network they wish to use and can be very specific
⁃ Carriers can also throw in their own ads
