One of the things I was hoping RIM would add in BlackBerry 6 was support for custom gestures. I use gestures all the time in Firefox and I thought it would be really cool if there were some on screen gestures for every app or at least for shortcuts. For example, it would be really cool if you could swipe up and left to go back in the browser.
Tafasa decided to create the best gesture app they could for touchscreen BlackBerrys with their 99 cent GesturePad app. This app gives you a canvas to draw gestures and create your own custom gestures. Gestures are limited to:
- Composing an email or SMS
- Call a phone
- Show a contact
- Launch an application
- Open a website
For example, you could make the infinity symbol call your wife. The gestures only work when the app is fired so it is one of those apps that would be best assigned to a convenience key. Hopefully Tafasa will allow you to double tap the convenience key to open it in the future using that new feature in OS 6.
You can pick up GesturePad for 99 Cents in the store at this link
