Since Viigo bit the dust and stopped working in BlackBerry 6 I have been on the hunt for a solid RSS reader with good caching. So far the best I have found is BerryReader which works well though it crashes and freezes often and does not have a good offline cache of all your articles.
CDJ Studios released a new Google Reader Client called Feeds which seems similar to Unread but they are promising full offline support in the future. The app has full two way integration with Google reader with the ability to set controls on what downloads and cut down on data usage.
The price is right for Feeds at $2.99 in App World but currently I find that BerryReader does a better job though it costs more. Hopefully some competition will lead to a better RSS client since BerryReader has not seen an update in awhile.
CDJ Studios is promising that future versions of Feeds will add as a free upgrade:
- Full offline support
- Background support
- Sharing items via email, SMS, and PIN messaging
- Third party services such as Read it Later and Instapaper (more to be added**)
