StopMail Pro is an innovative new app from Backroom Software. The app lets you simply stop email from showing up on your BlackBerry instead of having to remove the email account. For example, say you have a work BlackBerry and you don’t want to get email while you are off duty. I simply turn of all the alerts on my BlackBerry from work email when I am off but StopMail takes a different approach. It seems like the app just filters and deletes emails received during the quiet time you set so it doesn’t actually stop data usage.
The app comes in three variants ranging from free to Pro as you can see below:
- StopMail LITE which is free simply allows you to turn the account on or off. Nothing more and nothing less.
- StopMail regular costs $2.99 and lets you schedule when to block emails every day and lets you recover the last 20 emails deleted by the app.
- StopMail PRO costs $4.99http://store.berryreview.com/product.asp?id=63771&n=StopMail-PRO and adds more functionality allowing you to schedule a different block for every day along with all the features of previous versions.

For OS 5.0 there is an email filter capability built into the email setup. I use it regularly while I’m at work so I don’t get simultaneous email notifications on my work computer and BB at the same time. Very easy to set and change when going home.
