After we just heard that Virgin Mobile slashed their unlimited mobile broadband plan I had to mention this. FierceWireless is reporting that Verizon is planning to launch a new 5GB prepaid broadband plan for a super high $80 a month. That is twenty dollars more than they charge postpaid customers and two times as much as Virgin Mobile’s new plan costs.
Since the Virgin Mobile plan runs on Sprint this has me wondering if Verizon really thinks people are willing to spend 1.5 to 2 times the price for Verizon coverage. I know Verizon commands a premium but that is a bit ridiculous.
What do you think? Are you interested in prepaid broadband? I know a few users who would pick up a device for when they travel occasionally but don’t want to sign a 2 year plan for $60/month.
