RIM is really on a roll this week. They sent me an email saying that the much awaited update v5 for the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System has finally been released. This new update adds calling over Wi-Fi which makes the BlackBerry into a full fledged campus phone for companies. That is a really compelling reason for companies to ditch desk phones and just issue BlackBerrys.
You can read more about the update in our original coverage of the update but companies can now go and request pricing and demos of MVS. I think RIM really has a great value proposition in MVS for large companies. The only issue is that it is currently restricted to the Cisco PBX but supposedly they can easily add support for other PBX vendors.
