Sprint announced that they have released a new Sprint Zone application to allow you to manage your account from your BlackBerry. The odd thing is that this application is limited to only work on the BlackBerry Bold 9650 for now. That is an odd restriction considering the 9630 is running almost the same OS. The new Sprint Zone app gives you access to pay your bill, manage your account, and check usage. You will also be shown suggested applications along with products and services from Sprint. You should see a pushed application icon for the app on your Bold 9650.
The Sprint Zone Application includes:
- My Sprint – tools and information for customers to manage their accounts, pay bills, view voice, text and data usage
- My Sprint News – keeps customers informed and engaged with up-to-date news and information to enhance their wireless experience
- Suggested Apps – highlights useful applications in a variety of categories
- Phone Tips and Tricks – videos and information about how to use their device
It is also interesting to note that Sprint has put out a call to developers asking them to pitch their applications to be featured in the Sprint Zone App. Check out the details below:
Calling All Developers: Submit Your Apps for the Sprint Zone
Developers interested in having their applications featured within Sprint Zone need to submit their app to the Sprint Apps Pitch Box located at http://developer.sprint.com/PitchYourApp. Selection will be determined by relevance and best customer experience on the Nationwide Sprint Network, Nextel National Network and Sprint 4G network. To keep the content within Sprint Zone appealing for customers, Sprint will update the featured applications on a reoccurring basis. Select apps also will be featured in Sprint advertising, online, through social media and point-of-sale materials.
Developers can learn more about the Sprint Developer Program and creating applications at the Sprint Open Developer Conference. The conference will be held Oct. 26 – 28, 2010 in Santa Clara, Calif. Visit www.sprint.com/developer for more information.
