I am not sure how we missed mentioning Qype before but they let us know they have released version 2 of their app. In case you are not familiar with Qype they have a service that focuses on providing local reviews with a mix of social networking. In essence that means you can look up where to go and post/read reviews about the location. With the exception of Brazil they are currently focused mainly on Europe with content from Germany, UK, France, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Poland, Brazil, Spain, & Italy though they do support other countries.
This new version of their app adds the ability to:
- write reviews from your handset
- upload photos from your handset camera
- register with the site
- BIS-B support to solve connection problems some users have
They currently only support the 8520, 8900, 9500 and 9700 though they are working on adding support for the 9000, 9100, 9105 and 9520.

GPS never worked with this app. It was always trying to find my location, and you can’t do anything in the app until it has found you. I was standing outside, and GMaps was working fine.

Hm strange it works very well on my BB 9520 which doesn’t have GPS and uses cell tower location. As Qype BB client has a 4 star rating in the App World it looks like it works very well with other users.
Did you use the OTA download. Because it might be that your device is not supported or you installed the wrong version…
