T-Mobile is really holding to their “Stick Together” tagline by waiving call charges to and from Haiti along with pledging support of wireless equipment for restoration after this recent devastating earthquake.
T-Mobile is enabling free calls for current customers to loved ones in Haiti until January 31st, 2010 and retroactively to January 12th, 2010. Also T-Mobile customers who are already in Haiti will be able to roam on T-Mobile’s partners in Haiti (Voila and Digicel) free of charge through January 31st. They have also pledged to donate wireless equipment like generators and phones for restoration.
In case you don’t already know T-Mobile customers can text “HAITI” to “90999” to make an immediate donation of $10 to the Red Cross to help in Haiti. The donation will be charged to your bill and 100% of the donation goes to the Red Cross and T-Mobile wont charge you for the text message or deduct it from your plan. Customers can also text “YELE” to 501501 to support Haitian-born musician and featured T-Mobile artist Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti fund. For more information visit www.yele.org.
