I have always dreamed of watching regular broadcast TV on my BlackBerry. It has a screen, processor, and antenna and would be a perfect way to take your couch potato addiction on the go. Currently you can only really stream TV over the internet using slingbox or some cellphone service but that is in no way ideal. The channels are not the same and the price is just way to high for the limited time you are going to use the service.
In Japan and Korea practically every mobile gadget has a TV cooked in thanks to their Mobile TV broadcasting standard. Hopefully that same standard will come to the US soon enough. Tivit is bringing a new accessory out in the Spring that will be a mobile TV receiver with a built in Wi-Fi access point and battery. It will use an app on your BlackBerry to watch TV on the go for up to 3 hours. This is not my dream solution but it may be one step closer to it…
So what do you think of TV on your BlackBerry?

Try “Orb” (http://www.orb.com). It’s free too.
Orb let’s you stream nearly any type of media directly from an internet connected PC running the free Orb server softwar, including live TV (requires a tv tuner card for live TV). It will stream recorded TV as well if you have DVR software like Windows Media Center. Also works great for streaming mp3 music, etc to your blackberry.
There is no separate client for Blackberry. You simply access Orb through your Blackberry’s browser, and streaming uses the default Blackberry media player (using RTSP). Because it’s browser based, you can stream to nearly any device including another pc, handheld, etc.
