RIM has really been on a roll with interviewing their product managers for recent device launches. First they did one for the Tour, then the 8520 Curve, and now they have one for the Storm2 the day before the device is supposed to drop on shelves at Verizon.
The Q&A is a bit superficial but its good to see that the main focus for Yasser Mirza was fixing the annoying original SurePress screen and improving the software. He claims that he can now type faster on a Storm than on a QWERTY keyboard but I doubt that is possible! I have typed on practically every kind of consumer touchscreen and virtual keys will always fail in comparison to real buttons.
There is some interesting stuff in here but my buddy Doug glossed over a key question. Why did they decide to call it the Storm2? Will the 9700 be the Bold2? This could start to get really confusing…
