RIM let us know earlier today that they will be releasing a free app together with TiVo. The news was embargoed to break at midnight EST but it looks like even the good boys at RIM like to leak news early!
The free app will let you view the program/TV guide from your BlackBerry as well as schedule recordings on your TiVo which is pretty cool! TiVo customers will be able to browse by category, view the most popular shows or daily picks and see the programming details, such as title, description, runtime, and airdate and time. Additionally, the BlackBerry device can easily be used to set a TiVo to record shows. Sadly the App is US and Canada only for now.
TiVo service allows TiVo users to schedule recordings of their favorite television shows. TiVo users can:
- Connect a TiVo DVR to a home network or high-speed Internet connection to download music, videos, and movies
- Record two different television shows simultaneously
- Pause live or recorded television shows
- Rewind recorded television shows
- Access media files and transfer data between a computer and a TiVo DVR
The app will be is available in the App World and at www.blackberry.com/tivo and you can easily pick it up at the second link OTA.
Let us know what you think!

MythTv support would be nice. Think SlingBox + TiVo.

sweet little app, just a pitty it doesn’t allow you to remotely review the TiVo todo list.
This app alongside wonderful remote (wifi tivo remote control app) gives us full control over TiVo from the ‘berry.
