I am not a doctor or lawyer myself so making such a list of useful apps is beyond me. I know that my father in law who is a surgeon found some useful drug guides for BlackBerry that I mentioned before. Though he recently switched to an iPhone since the BlackBerry did not have as many options as he had on his previous Palm and Windows Mobile Treo’s. A good friend of mine (lawyer) who is a diehard iPhone fanatic also missed the ability to store all the NYC statutes on a BlackBerry.
That is why I was pretty interested when readers sent in two articles which list applications recommended for doctors and lawyers. Personally I think the list for lawyers is a bit watered down with the non-specific inclusion of Viigo, RDM+, & eOffice but is still decent. The list for doctors is actually quite a bit more interesting including some titles that are free. (kudos to Al Sacco for the doctors list)
Check them out at these links:
- Dr. BlackBerry: Eight Apps Making Medicine More Mobile
- Blackberry Apps for Lawyers (original but without links)
Let me know if you find have your own list of resources targeted at doctors or lawyers. Better yet any industry specific solutions are welcome. For example, I know quite a few system admins who use wIPzard in combination with MidpSSH quite often.

The only FREE and truely useful software out there is epocrates from http://get.epocrates.com
The rest…either too expensive or not so great.

inForm allows you to set up databases anyway you want. Great for police officers keeping track of past suspects and case management.
