Pinwall let me know that they have updated their BlackBerry social network app to version 1.1. The idea behind this app is pretty cool and it looks like RIM is slowly going in this direction with the upcoming BlackBerry Messenger. Pinwall seems to be putting a good deal of effort into their app so it is worth giving it a shot. On the other hand I am not sure how much traction Pinwall will get considering the fact that most people already use Facebook and Myspace on their BlackBerry which both have an exponentially larger community.
The new Pinwall update brings:
- Built-in picture uploader
- IM connection optimized
- Terminate account option in Profile
- City field in profile view
- Ads can be opened in the browser
- Improved search results
- Name change is now allowed
- Optimized menus
- Adding new contacts is now quicker
- Search by city has been fixed
- Search by age has been fixed
- Privacy options: Allow chat with friends only
- Privacy options: Public or private profile
- Privacy options: Receive email notifications
