Nobex let me know that they have upgraded their Nobex Radio Companion application with some cool new features. My favorite is the ability to see the lyrics of the song you are currently listening scrolling in sync with the music. They also have about 1000 radio stations you can listen to an 2700 radio stations where you can view the playlist. Pretty impressive for a free application!
New features include:
- Lyrics
- Song and artist info
- Song snippets
- Mobile goodies
- Streamlined user interface
See Lyrics – you can see the lyrics of the song that is playing (or recently played). If you are listening to the song through Nobex Radio Companion, you can even have the lyrics scroll synchronized with the song – turning your BlackBerry into your very own karaoke machine!
Read Song and Artist Info – Using the “Lyrics and More” screen, you can now see Artist and Song info too. You can find out how the band you love got together, and why they wrote that song you can’t get out of your head.
Get Songs or Ringtones – with a single click, right from your mobile device. Or, choose to receive an email with links to buy the song on your PC, so you can always keep your music collection fresh!
Hear Song Snippets – if you’re not sure if the song you just missed is the one you have been wanting to download.
You can pick up the latest version by heading to www.nobexrc.com from your BlackBerry browser or just head there from your PC for more info.

Streaming on my 8330 works for no more than 15 seconds before getting error code 204 “Stream not seekable”. While the companion service is interesting and useful this is just another failed radio streaming app.

Doesn’t load on the Storm. Just get some gobbledygook error. I think it’s time to ditch this Storm – so little steaming media seems to work on it. UPhone 3, Android and possibly Web OS would better.
