I had been wondering what my good friend and theme designer, Hedone had been up to these days as it was a bit quiet from his corner. Then whamo! I start getting emails about his new website and a new animated theme. What a way to kick off the new year! First off, Hedone Design is now at www.hedonedesign.com – where you can view screen shots, reviews and other theme information on all his themes, including his very first theme for 2009 called, Underwater. Now, at first glance, Underwater looks similar to a few other nice themes out there, most notably Bplay’s Saltwater theme – but there are differences.
One of them is that on Hedone’s theme, the icon bar (consisting of 6 user customizable icons) is at the TOP of the screen. Another difference is when you scroll over the ‘calendar’ icon for example, your list of calendar entries appear in the middle of the screen (note that they conveniently appear in front of the swimming fishes, so you can clearly read the entries). On the main screen, schools of colorful fish swim back and forth which continues even in locked screen mode. As with all of Hedone’s themes, Underwater not only looks fantastic, it runs extremely well as there is no lagging due to the animation.
