Both RIM and T-Mobile sent us press releases announcing the new device last night. Seems like Doug was on the money. I just still can’t believe that RIM stuck with “Pearl Flip 8220” as the name of the phone. Talk about a mouthful. I can already hear it now “look at that hot Pearl Flip 8220, talk about sexy!”
There is nothing really new to talk about on the 8220 other than the fact that it should be available for T-Mobile in the Fall. The only other thing I noticed was that it does not look like it will be getting a full HTML browser like the Bold.
You can check out a cool flash preview of the device and register for more information at this link though it really slows down your browser:

I still can’t believe they didn’t pick a better name… Say hello to my little (chubby) flip!

With the high traffic email going through the handset, it better comes with an industrial heavy duty flex cable
