I take public transportation every day so I am appreciate the need for mobile access to the train schedule. Especially with the understaffed information desks at most NYC transit hubs. I ran across this post by Dennis on WapReview where he lists a few good resources for finding transit information on the go and thought I would share. The first I use quite a bit and the others I cannot comment on. Let me know if you found others!
- New York MTA – http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/mta.info/
- Boston MBTA – http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.mbta.com
- Los Angeles MTA – http://www.metro.net/mobile/
- New Jersey Transit – http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.njtransit.com
- Washington DC – http://www.wmata.com/mobile/
- Amtrak –http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.amtrak.com/
- Phoenix AZ Valley Metro – http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.valleymetro.org
- Tokyo & Japan – http://jorudan.co.jp/english/
Sadly I cannot comment on the quality or reliability of any of these sites other than the first. I found the New York MTA site to be quite usable since their desktop website took forever to load on my berry. If you want some more information on each site check out this post on WapReview.
