Just read an interesting article on Tech2.com regarding a trojan that may be emerging for the BlackBerry.
For the whole article just zip over to Tech2.com : http://www.tech2.com/india/news/smart-mobile-phones/blackberry-gets-its-first-trojan/31421/0 .
This is a quote from the article whitepaper:
” as soon as a Trojan for the BlackBerry is out and making its rounds, Blackberry users are going to have a problem with keeping their data secure. A hacking code called the BB Hacking toolkit, which comes with the Blackberry Trojan called BBProxy is what can be deployed into a BlackBerry server and it’s ‘Troy’ all over again. What this deceitful Trojan does is open up a back-door to the company’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and the information stored is then up for grabs. In technical terms it will bypass all the company’s security systems that protect data stored on the servers. Not only can the hacker simply remove information undetected they could also infect the system itself.”
Cause for concern ???

Hmm…I find it rather weird that this information comes from a site from India, especially with the current BlackBerry issues in India atm..if you look back in Google (ie..search BlackBerry Trojan) their was a proof of concept previously of a trojan for BB devices which was actually produced into a legitimate..but imo unethical product..i refuse to link to it…but thats aside from the fact…this breaks down to India is having issues with RIM atm..and this Trojan news comes from out of nowhere again..the last trojan on BB information was from 2006…
Food for thought if ya ask me..

This was something I considered when I first saw the article but forgot to sign off with it as a parting comment. (It was really late at night). Sorry…
