Webaroo’s tag line is “Your web to go” which is more or less what it is. Webaroo is a free piece of software for your BlackBerry that allows you to do quite a few things. They offer websites, blogs, email, RSS feeds, and widgets on your BlackBerry. Even though they show support for only older BlackBerry devices on their website I found that it does support newer BlackBerry devices such as our test 8800. To install you just go to webaroo.com/m and follow the install instructions. There are many different widgets that can be installed through Webaroo ranging from Gmail access and flicker tag searches to RSS feeds and popular blogs. Check out a full listing of the available features and widgets here.
he software reminds me of AvantGo without all the slowdowns but it does have some serious shortcomings. For example to select an item you have to hit menu and then select and to go back a screen you have to hit menu back. For some reason they decided to not support the traditional select and back buttons on the BlackBerry which I think is a bad move. They also have limited storage space in the application so many RSS feeds will not work for content.
