ReQall has just released their memory assisting application in a beta version for Blackberry. Users can use reQall to help them stay organized allowing them to create, edit and share reminders directly from their BlackBerry device.
From their website:
reQall for BlackBerry gives you a voice-to-text recorder, task/shopping list/idea manager, reminder service and memory aid, all in one. Turn your BlackBerry smartphone into a powerful productivity center that helps you remember all the important things in your life. Beta version available now!
- Use voice or text to tell reQall what you want to remember—then get a reminder via email or text message at just the right moment.
- Intuitively organizes your reminders by when they have to be done, who has to do them and what kind of reminder they are (To-Dos, Notes or Shopping List items).
- Integrates with the email, calendar, address book, memo pad and task list in your BlackBerry so you can automatically create To-Dos and Notes from these sources.
- Elegant and simple interface works seamlessly with the BlackBerry trackball and keyboard, making it easy to stay organized.
- Fast, accurate voice-to-text transcription.
- Understands dates and times, as well as keywords like “buy,” “ask” and “note,” so it can automatically organize your items for you.
- Allows you to share reminders with others so you can keep your family or work group on track.
- Works anywhere your BlackBerry smartphone has a data connection—worldwide—and enables you to capture items by voice without incurring international phone charges.
- Offline capability—capture ideas, add to To-Do lists and create shared reminders while offline. reQall syncs them the next time you connect online.
For more information, visit ReQall’s website or go here to download the beta app to your device. You’ll be asked to set-up an account but it’s quick and easy and you can do so directly from your Blackberry.

Just heard from David that E*Trade’s Mobile application now works on the Bold. Not sure how many people are trading with the current situation and also have a Bold but at least E*Trade is still updating the application instead of just leaving it stagnant.
I can confirm that it works on my Bold but ran into one problem. The application runs off the TCP/IP connection on your device so you need to have that setup with your correct carrier APN settings for it to work. It also does not work over WiFi so you need the TCP/IP settings below.
Not everything seems to work but this is an improvement.
For example, from their troubleshooting file:
For AT&T smartphones:
- APN: wap.cingular
- User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
- Password: CINGULAR1
For T-Mobile smartphones:
- APN: wap.voicestream.com
- User name and password: (leave blank)
You can pick up the latest version from m.etrade.com
Still catching up on the tips everybody!

I was having some issues when I transferred my previous copy of Mobipocket to my Bold and found that they had a new beta hiding on their site. I was having some serious problems with the menu’s on the Bold but the latest update Build 79 works like a charm. I am not sure if it was fixed in a previous version since I don’t remember what version I was using before.
Official change log for this version:
- Password encrypted eBooks are now fully supported.
- Fix of some sub-menus which are not displayed on some blackberry (like annotations sub-menu).
- Fix of error message displayed when some eBooks were opened.
Others could learn a thing or two from Mobipocket’s simple yet succinct change log.
Sadly the latest beta is not available OTA currently so you have to download it using your computer and desktop manager for now at:

Sorry just catching up where I left off. While I was out for the holiday Vodafone Germany launched a Storm Updates page. No big surprise there after Verizon put up theirs. On a side note Vodafone UK is giving away 20 BlackBerry Storms to UK residents so its worth signing up. Robb also spotted some Verizon Storm dummy unit shots on CrackBerry Forums that caught my eye.
I wonder what will leak next? I guess the next step is for Verizon to put one of these on eBay…
Thanks to everyone who sent these in!

Luis let me know that The Street teamed up with Polar Mobile to create a free BlackBerry application. It allows you to access certain parts of The Street from your BlackBerry. I am not sure how well it works but it looks purty.
I am not sure why you would not just use a multipurpose RSS reader but the articles do format quite well on in the reader. It does not look like you can add your own RSS feeds so this app is a one trick horse.
You can read more at this link or download it direct by heading to m.thestreet.com

So it is October 2nd and still no Bold to be found. BoyGenius is reporting that the Bold training for AT&T employees has been delayed do to launch delays. Its kind of odd considering launch parties are already scheduled for October.
I admit that the October and other rumored launch dates were only rumors. On the other hand the Bold has already been released in 31 countries already so what exactly is this deal breaking problem?
I really don’t get the problem that AT&T has with the Bold testing. All I can say is that my unlocked Rogers Bold has been working like an absolute DREAM on AT&T with nary a problem… It still has a memory leak problem but with 36mb of free space that is not as big of a consideration anymore to me.

Excerpt from the email:
As you are aware, with the anticipated launch of the 3G AT&T BlackBerry Bold, RIM has committed to hold training sessions in over 40 cities. A large number of these sessions were to take place this and next week. Due to the continued uncertainty of the device launch date, we will work with RIM to reschedule these sessions to a later date.
Any representatives that have registered will be informed by email of the schedule change. No action is required from your part.
Rescheduling the training to align with a final technical acceptance for BlackBerry Bold launch will ensure that:

BoyGenius scored another picture of the internal Best Buy system showing the T-Mobile Flip arriving in stock on October 26th. I guess that means we will be seeing a KickStart Pearl 8220 Flip soon…

UPDATE: We were told that you should remove the RIM TOOLS FOLDER from 4.6.0.156 or else you will install RIM’s QUINCY application…
Sorry everybody but it was the Jewish New Year over the past two days so I was AWOL. While I was away we got tips for quite a few OS versions for the Bold so I thought I would start the catchup from there.
Secret Agent 001 sent in 4.6.0.156

Secret Agent 001 & 002 also sent in 4.6.0.154

Thanks again to our secret agents! Let us know if you notice anything different.
NOTE: Do not install this software if you do not know what you are doing. It may make your BlackBerry FUBAR or just plain angry.
