Do you dread that time of month when that cell phone/BlackBerry bill is due to show up in your letterbox ? (or inbox - as is an option for many carriers these days).
If you¡¯re anything like me then your bill would have been cut considerably since using a BlackBerry. (I dropped down from an average of $450 - $600 per month to $79 on a capped unlimited BIS plan)
So what is you average cell phone/BlackBerry plan bill per month ? (I know this will vary widely as we are spread across many different carrier and countries but it would be interesting to see the ¡®norm¡¯).
I have seen some ludicrous examples of extreme phone bills on several news and current affairs programs in the past. One was racked up by a 13 year old to the tune of $24 000 (Mum and Dad would be proud¡¦ )

If you have had an example of an ¡®extreme¡¯ bill then let us know about it in the comments section. Can you beat $24K¡¦

Derrick sent in this cool new theme from Visto Themes that I thought I would share. I personally am a big fan of Visto Themes and am currently using the H2O theme myself. This latest theme by Corey is a solid release with his classic minimalist top bar. The theme kind of reminds me of the Vodaphone today themes but with the added bottom dock. The theme looks very slick with custom icons though I am not a fan of the text at the bottom of the homescreen. I do love the fact that the signal strength meter was moved to the left so that it is not blocked by the data transfer arrows. (Pet peeve of mine)

You can pick up the theme for $7.00 in the store at the links below:

I just got an email from S4BB, telling me that TaskMailer 1.3 Beta is now available for download. We mentioned this product when it¡¯s initial beta was released, and S4BB sure seems to be hyping it up. I have gotten at least a dozen emails since I signed up for the beta version regarding my opinion of this product. I guess they think that it is going to do quite well. Personally I have never been incredibly impressed with S4BB¡¯s products, but my mind has been changed many times before!
The summary below is from S4BB¡¯s email.
TaskMailer(TM) for BlackBerry®
TaskMailer(TM) is a small program which allows you to create and email a task (todo) in the fastest way you can imagine. The current features include:
- Easily create and email a task with one program.
- Task email attachment formats: iCal and vCal.
- Compatible with desktop task applications including but not limited to Microsoft® Outlook®, iCal®, Entourage®, and more.
- Email a task anyone!
- Optional: save the task in your BlackBerry¡¯s internal task database.
- Task preferences which can be entered: name, priority, status, due date, category / categories, notes.
- Fast access: by assigning one of the BlackBerry¡¯s softkey to TaskMailer the program is accessible with just one click. More here.
You can download the beta via Desktop Installation Here, or OTA Download Here.
You can find a list of all the changes since the original release HERE. I don¡¯t personally use this application, so if you do, please comment about any improvements and changes that you find!

EA is still getting its feet wet with BlackBerry games but is hitting strong with some well known titles. I really got excited when I got an email from Handango announcing that EA is now offering Madden NFL 09 for the BlackBerry. Pretty good news if you are a NFL fan. Can¡¯t promise you how good the gameplay will be but I can tell you that the graphics look a bit blocky. I just found that some of EA¡¯s games require you to move diagonally which is not possible with the trackball so you need to use the keyboard keys.
Sadly the is no trial and the screenshots of the game are not from a BlackBerry from what I can tell. EA needs to refine their BlackBerry focus if they want to be taken seriously. I know I would not blindly pay $14.95 with only a few screenshots to convince me that it is worth it. Especially after playing SKATE with its frustrating controls. Not the vague description mentioning that ¡°features may vary by handset¡±
If you are interested you can check out Madden NFL 09 at the links below on Handango. Not sure why there are so many versions¡¦

Review: BlueAnt Wireless Supertooth 3
Rating:

10/10
Link: www.myblueant.com
Cost: $65-130 dollars via Google Products
Those of you in Washington and California take note!
Well it may seem to some of you that frequent BerryReview that I just throw out Editor¡¯s Choice awards at the drop of a hat. This is NOT true! I have just been lucky enough lately to have awesome products to take a look at. I swear!
I wrote a review about the Jabra SP5050 that was published about a couple of weeks ago. If you read it, you know that I was very disappointed in a couple of key areas, primarily call volume. Well, let us rejoice! I have found a product that is far superior to the SP5050 in almost every way, shape and form.
The BlueAnt Supertooth 3 is the big brother to the famous Supertooth Light, long touted to be the best Bluetooth speakerphone on the market. Well, not anymore since the Supertooth 3 has hit the arena. This product is a great alternative to a Bluetooth Headset, especially for people who don¡¯t care for having something implanted in their ear for their entire drive. Because let¡¯s face it, if you are constantly putting in and taking out your headset, your attention is not where it should be.
When the package arrived at my door, I was pleased with its initial appearance. The box was colorful and slick looking, including a metal cap and bottom. Inside the box was really everything that I need: User¡¯s Manual, Quick Start Guide, an AC charger, a car charger, and 2 magnetic sun visor clips (perfect for me considering I am in multiple vehicles throughout the week). The speakerphone itself is a beautiful glossy black, with backlit buttons.
The visor clip is actually fairly ingenious yet simple at the same time. Both sides contain grooves for the speakerphone to sit snugly, so it¡¯s incredibly easy to move the device from the front of your visor to the other side depending on whether or not you have the visor down.

I have really been hunting through the new articles in the Knowledgebase and found an interesting one where RIM details some of the main new features in OS 4.6. Nothing crazy new here but I found it to be a great rundown when I explain to friends why the Bold is better than their trusty Curves.
I did find some really juicy tidbits that I had not heard before. Don¡¯t yell at me if you have heard them before since some of these are not new!
Here are some of the major things I think are worth pointing out:
- QWERTY hot keys for Lock and Vibrate - Holding A locks your berry and holding Q sets it to vibrate!!!
- New icon for meeting requests in the messages application
- Attachment download via the Browser application
- Support for inline video streaming in the Browser application
- Composing SMS messages now looks like email composing screen
- Delete Applications from the homescreen is now a menu option
- Check spelling as you type
And my favorite feature that I like in the Bold:
Switch to a paired Bluetooth enabled device during a call
When a BlackBerry smartphone is paired with a Bluetooth enabled device (for instance, a hands-free car kit or a wireless stereo headset) and a call is answered using the BlackBerry smartphone, a Call Routed to Bluetooth Device prompt appears on the BlackBerry smartphone. Clicking Route Call to Headset will route the call to the Bluetooth enabled device. Clicking OK will close the prompt without routing the call.
Note:
- If you do not respond to the prompt within approximately five seconds of answering the call, the prompt disappears automatically. You can route the call to the paired Bluetooth enabled device later by pressing the Menu key and clicking Activate <Bluetooth enabled device>.
- If the call is answered using the Bluetooth enabled device, the call is automatically routed to the Bluetooth enabled device.
