I love easy, simple, and quick games for my BlackBerry. SeaBattle is one of those games you can easily step in an out of between meetings. I have been playing it on my Bold but ToySoft let me know that it is now also available for the Storm.

Sadly there is no two player or multiplayer online option but a guy can dream… The game is available now for a very cheap $1.99 until July 17th after which it jumps up to $2.99.

Google has ended one of the longest betas I have ever heard of. It is kind of ridiculous that the service used by millions of users was in beta from 2004 until this week. This means that Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk and all the rest of the Google Apps suite are now “beta” free.

Don’t you feel secure in the knowledge that beta means absolutely nothing to Google? Just to exacerbate that fact there is a new Google Labs function to change the Gmail logo to say beta again…

So now I am only waiting for Google BES Connector and the Enhanced Gmail Plugin from RIM to take over my BlackBerry.

Shao let me know about their latest app Leave It On. The app has a very simple purpose. It lets you configure up to 5 applications where you can set the background to not turn off or have an extended timer like 1 or 2 hours. I can’t really think where this would be useful for myself but ShaoSoft lists off Google Maps, Shazam, Media Player, Web Browser, and other applications that they think will benefit from this feature. The app is currently on sale until July 17 for $1.49 after which it jumps up to $1.99.

I spotted this theme over at Themes4BB by ‘vermeertje’ that I thought worth a mention. According to ‘vermeertje’ this is their first theme design but I have to admit, it has some charm. I like the right side icon bar and the artistic fonts used with this theme. The edgy home screen graphic makes for a cool effect. If you’re a Twitter fan (and these days who isn’t?) and you have the 8900, you may want to head on over to Themes4BB(registration required) to grab the OTA (and view more screen shots as well).

I know quite a few users who have been looking for a QuickBooks compatible time and expense tracking application for their BlackBerry. Looks like ReportAway! which was recently released by AcireSystems is targeting those users. ReportAway! lets you capture timesheet and expense information and generate QuickBooks importable time reports so you can generate invoices.

All the information is stored on your BlackBerry so there is no waiting but you can lose your information if you don’t export it often enough and you lose your device. Reporting is done through email. Pretty cool for a $8.99 app.

KD (often known in the forums as kdjayo) sent in one of his recent theme designs for the Storm called, Vista Complete. I don’t have the Storm to test this one personally but I really like the looks of the theme and going by his fan club from the forums, he has a good reputation for making quality themes.  In reading the information in the description via the store link below, KD seems to have made a lot of adjustments to this theme (this current version is v 2.151) and gives explicit details of its progression.  Either way, this looks to be a really neat looking theme to enjoy on your Storm

Its about time! The creators of Wordpress, Automattic, have released a public beta of Wordpress for BlackBerry. Both James and Luis sent me links within seconds of each other so I guess word is spreading like wildfire!

It looks like the app will let you upload audio and pictures along with text but I have not had time to fully check it out.
