3D Lawn Darts & 3D Constructo Combat Games

Frank pointed out to me that Concrete also released two other new games this week. The first is Lawn Darts which is a classic backyard game that kids are not allowed to play anymore. :) The second is Constructo Combat which is a 3D spaceship game. Both games are a bit expensive in my opinion at $14.99 but Concrete does offer a free trial and a money back guarantee if you are not fully satisfied. They also seem to have a 20% off coupon for the next week if you use the coupon code SAVING20 on their website.

Aliens On The Water? Nope- Just New Themes

Michael Small sent me a couple of new themes this morning. Michael really outdoes himself with the themes he puts out. All of them are crisp and clean, and these two are no exception. The first theme is an Alien L theme, with a really neat Yellow and Orange color combination. The second theme is a Gray On The Water theme, this is a great theme for people who like things a little bit slower paced.

BBSmart Alarms Pro v1.24 - Quick Fix Update

Based on the interest in our previous post about BBSmart Alarms Pro I decided to mention that they have released a quick fix patch. Tom let me know that the new version 1.24 addresses a very annoying issue that came up in version 1.23. It fixes a bug where a snoozed alarm sent to the background using the ESC/Back key will sound but will not come to the foreground making it annoying to dismiss.

3[2]Some people rebooted their BlackBerrys to fix the issues while others used the task switcher to open the program and force it to exit from the menu.

The auto-update should be available from inside the application or you can download the new version OTA from:

Thanks Tom for the tip!

The Calm Before The Storm

Well the guys over at The BoyGenius Report seem to be at the forefront of news once again! They just reported that the Verizon Storm has gone into Technical Acceptance.

verizonstormdelays

From the BGR post;

Here’s our latest info on the BlackBerry Storm and the fate of the device on Verizon’s network: it just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and the device has been delayed internally by around 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks (read: buggy and unresponsive) and polish it up. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon. We’ve double confirmed that information, so it should be pretty accurate. Additionally, we heard from someone else that they’ve increased the marketing budget for the BlackBerry Storm just to give AT&T a little kick in the nuts for delaying the Bold so much. That’s not confirmed, still probably a little true, plus we got a chuckle out of that anyway.

Well lets hope the Verizon guys can get their act together and have this thing out for the holiday season. Maybe if I’m lucky, I will be sporting one for my birthday (beginning of November) Yea I know, but I can dream can’t I?

Sid Meier’s Civilization IV - War Of Two Cities

I just got an email from Concrete software that they just released Civilization for BlackBerry. Talk about a flash from the past. I remember playing Civilization back in the day and I loved the game. I am curious to see if this adaptation lives up to the classic. The game is available now for a hefty $14.99 but don’t forget about our 15% off discount we are currently running on software. It’s nice to see that Concrete is offering a trial for the game so you can see how the game play is before you buy.
