A entrada seria apreciada.”

Exceção ilegal do argumento” erro!
Go back to the main screen, making sure to save your changes, and try SoftReset. Hopefully it works for all of you as it did for me!

If it doesnt work for you, please post a comment with your OS Version, BlackBerry Model and Carrier, and I will pass it along!

Review: Windows Live Messenger
Rating:

8/10
Cost: FREE
As we have been seeing for the past while, Live Messenger for BlackBerry has been spoken about and made available through certain carriers only. Recently Don Posted on the new links via http://mobile.blackberry.com that there is a new Page for Instant Messaging for SmartPhones, however some users were reporting that they were not seeing this link. This led me to check things out with both my devices, Curve and Pearl, on the issue. Although I could see the link on the Curve, it was not showing on the Pearl. After some link checking I found the page for the download was just being redirected to the link we all know http://www.blackberry.com/livemessenger, so I pointed my Pearl Browser to this link and managed to download, install and login.
I will be honest, I am not such a big Live/MSN user anymore and predominantly use GoogleTalk nowadays but I am some some what impressed with this client, it has quite a rich filled GUI, better than I was actually expecting. It has the look and feel of what I have known Live Messenger to be at the Desktop.

I don’t know how I missed this on Gizmodo yesterday… I know some of you complain when we rant about RIM but this tops the cake. Turns out some AT&T Regional Manager is making our argument for us on how a BlackBerry trumps their flagship iPhone. He wrote up the document as talking points for a store that does not have a stock of iPhones. Its funny because some store kiosk in New Jersey actually decided to hand out this write up he did to all the passerby explaining why they should avoid the iPhone. Below is a small excerpt:

The best part of the whole story is that he actually makes some pretty damn good points. I usually stay out of the iPhone bashing arena since my closest experience is owning an iPod Touch but this guy did a good compilation of the pros and cons. Obviously he is biased but what would you expect from a guy who sat down to write a “10 reasons the iPhone is no BlackBerry” document. Take it with a grain of salt since he also argues for Windows Mobile over the iPhone.
If you want in on a good laugh or you just need some arguing points for your next iPhone vs. BlackBerry debate then head on over to Gizmodo to read all 5 pages of the document.

SanaTizer just sent in a tip that RIM has posted BES 4.1.6 on their website. That means that Service Pack 6 of BES 4.1 is now official! This is a bit of a surprising move to me but hey I won’t complain.
BES 4.1.6 brings:
- HTML email to BES emails by default (no hack needed)
- Support for IBM Lotus Sametime 8.0
- Support for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
- Controls for new RIM released applications
- Some sort of new Calendar Synchronization tool for BES admins
- And a bunch of other things like renaming services and database changes
If you are a BES admin you can pick up the new service pack at this link. The release notes can be found at this link. Just click on the link that says release notes.
What did annoy me in the release notes was this one line:
Research In Motion (RIM) plans to discontinue support for the “You were BCC’d” portion of messages as of BlackBerry
Enterprise Server version 5.0
Why would they do that?

I have been a bit annoyed with this issue over the years and really wish RIM would address it. So here goes another DreamBerry idea…
Have you ever found that two websites you visit regularly on your BlackBerry require 2 different browser settings to get them to work? For example, your bank website may require Netscape emulation and Reuters looks better with BlackBerry emulation? Or you don’t want to see tables or background images on one website?
So I always find myself fiddling with the Browser options to make each website look readable or even load at all. I wish RIM would let you setup a custom exclusion list where you could set certain bookmarks or whole domains to use different browser settings than the global settings.
I don’t see this as too hard to implement. What do you guys think, would you find this useful?

Stefano sent me a link to this software announcement on PinStack that can really help quite a few people. If you have ever been stuck not being able to do an installation OTA this software will help. It will also help users who are on a limited data plan or don’t have a data plan to download applications that only offered OTA installation. It is also useful for backing up those installation files so that if the vendor pulls them you still have a local copy.
All you do is tell the application the URL to the OTA installation and it will download all the supporting files. This means that you will get the JAR, JAD, & COD files you need to do a local installation.
Its as simple as what you see below. You then copy those files onto your devices memory card or main memory and open up the media application. You then click the menu button and "explore" and click on the JAD file to install.

Head on over to this link to download the software free:
