You can pick up the latest version by using the auto-update feature in the application or by heading to m.mypoynt.com from your BlackBerrys Browser.
UPDATE: Changelog below (Once again thanks to Tom)
Changes are mostly improved stability and tweaks to the back-end services.
The main UI change is gps status notifications in the Search Location bar at the top.
The next update is a big one and will include BlackBerry Bold support, an improved UI, optional yellow pages business listing images, and movie trailers (if you’re on a Bold). Currently, older devices do not support movie streaming. We will continue to work on and support older devices.

One of our secret agents sent us a link to an AMAZING reference guide that shows exactly what HTML is supported by each version of the BlackBerry OS. This goes from OS 3.X to 4.6 and is the best guide I have seen so far. If you were planning on creating a website that looks good in the BlackBerry browser then this is the guide for you. It will tell you which OS supports which HTML tags and the level of support provided. Talk about an invaluable resource for developers looking to mobilize a website!!! You can see some samples below:
The guide can be found at this link and is quite extensive with over 108 pages of content. I still can’t understand why RIM does not publicize this information to help developers create BlackBerry compatible websites. This does seem to be beta documentation so it may no be 100% up to date.

Branded FreeRange based RSS readers seem to be quite popular recently. The Wall Street Journal just released one and now FierceWireless has announced their own. The reader looks good and is essentially a branded version of FreeRange from what I can tell with Fierce websites built in. You can add your own RSS feeds which is a definite plus!
If you are a regular FierceWireless reader then you can check out their branded reader by heading over to this link from your Berry: http://fw.mwap.at/. Let us know what you think if you download it.
You can always download the BerryReview branded version of Viigo which also lets you add other RSS feeds and will be upgraded to the latest Tango release VERY SOON!
Thanks to DavidB for sending this one in!

Peter just let me know that eVeek has spun off their commercial themes to their new Elecite.com website. This way eVeek.com will remain a source for free themes while Elecite will feature commercial themes.

The current 9 themes available from Elecite look promising. The top rated theme “Distinct” is similar to the carousel theme many of us fawned over. The cool part is that the themes come with a free customization where Elecite will change the homescreen icons to whatever you want within 48 hours free of charge. The main catch seems to be that all of the themes require OS 4.5 which not everybody has installed yet. If you have OS 4.5 on your 8100, 8300, 8700, or 8800 then the themes should work for you.

The themes are available now for $6.99 each with free customization at www.elecite.com.

These types of promotions seem to be doing pretty well. The promotion the weather channel ran a few months back broke all records for their website. They had more than a 35% bump in traffic and over 700,000 entries for their contest.
Douglas at BlackBerryCool spotted a promotion that RIM & Ford are offering where you have a chance to win a new 2009 Lincoln MKS or one of 10 BlackBerrys. No word on what BlackBerrys are for the winning but it cant hurt to spin the wheel and see if you win.
Check it out at www.winwithblackberry.com

A bit back we told you that Vlingo had released a private beta to fix some of the connection bugs users were experiencing. The fix was promised for August so the beginning of September is pretty good! I just got an email from Vlingo announcing the new open beta to all and detailing the new features and bug fixes.
New Features
- Reply to and forward messages using voice
- You can now “reply with Vlingo,” “reply all with Vlingo” and “forward with Vlingo” (simply access these options by hitting the menu button when viewing a message - these are currently not spoken commands).
- Punctuation and automatic capitalization
- Recently Vlingo added automatic capitalization of proper nouns and the first letter after punctuation. Try speaking “period,” “exclamation point,” or “question mark, followed by another sentence.
Vlingo 1.1 Key Bug Fixes and Network Connection Improvements
- This version should fix the problem where Vlingo was unable to run because it thought it needed WiFi permissions on a non-WiFi device
- If you have a WiFi device: Vlingo 1.1 no longer requires you to turn off WiFi when you are not connected via the WiFi network.
- Vlingo 1.1 offers a more robust set of connection options. If you previously were unable to connect to Vlingo or received frequent timeout errors, this update offers users additional options for establishing a successful connection. Please see below for additional options should connection problems still occur.
- Improved permissions management.
You can find the new beta at this link:
